Grading can protect a card and increase buyer confidence, but it does not automatically increase profit.

Calculate the likely result

Compare a conservative, probability-weighted graded value with the raw value, grading fee, shipping, insurance, selling fees, and the time your card will be unavailable.

• Inspect centering, corners, edges, surface, print quality, and visible damage.
• Do not assume the card will receive the highest grade.
• Compare recent sales for raw copies and several realistic grades.
• Consider whether authentication, protection, or personal importance matters even without profit.
